2016 Cabernet Sauvigon, McClellan Estate Vineyard, Walla Walla Valley

McClellan Estate Vineyard lies at the southern edge of the Walla Walla Valley, adjacent to the founding blocks of the Seven Hills Winery estate vineyard. This vineyard was established by the McClellan family in 2003, employing varietals, clones, trellising systems, and vineyard practices most ideally suited to this specific site. Following more than thirty years of working the land in this region of Walla Walla Valley and nearly two decades of farming this site, we are able to see its uniqueness as expressed in this vineyard designate bottling. The 2016 vintage marks our fifth Cabernet Sauvignon from McClellan Estate Vineyard, and comes from years of patient effort.

The wine has deep red color, showing aromas of cherry pie, boysenberries and tobacco leaf and offering undertones of baking spices and cedar wood. The texture is velvety, with ripe red and black fruit flavors and a sweet, firm finish of cacao nibs and vanilla. This distinctively pleasing wine should age well for six to eight years.
